South Carolina names Morrow biz journalism scholarship winners

The 2022 recipients of the David J. Morrow Scholarship for Small business Journalism at the College of South Carolina are Jade Crooks, Riley Edenbeck, Tyler Fedor, Addison Hinkle, Brook McDaniel and Stephen Pastis.

The Morrow Scholarship is a partnership amongst the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the College of South Carolina and the Culture for Advancing Small business Enhancing and Creating. The award is presented on a yearly basis to learners researching company journalism at USC. The scholarship helped bring the learners to the launch of Talent Up @ SABEW drop workshop on Oct. 14 at The Wall Street Journal headquarters in New York Town.

Crooks and Pastis received the scholarship for a next time. Both equally attended SABEW’s annual convention pretty much.

Crooks is a senior journalism key with a minor in business enterprise administration. The scholarship is named in honor of David J. Morrow, an alumnus of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communications at USC. Morrow was a well known economic journalist who died of pancreatic cancer in January 2010 at age 49.

At the time of his demise, Morrow was a SABEW board member and the first Donald W. Reynolds Endowed Chair in Organization Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
